Hi, I’m Karen Mercanti, and welcome to Mercanti Virtual Assistant Services!

Born in Italy to British / Italian parents, I spent my early years studying in Italy before starting my career at sea at 21. By the age of 25, I moved to the UK, where I lived for the past 15 years, developing a strong connection to British customs and culture. Throughout my career, I gained valuable experience across several industries, including maritime personnel management and running my own business.

A year ago, my family and I decided to return to Italy for a slower pace of life and better work-life balance. However, after navigating the challenges of Italy’s complex bureaucracy firsthand, I was inspired to create Mercanti Virtual Assistant Services. My mission is to help fellow expats overcome these obstacles and smoothly transition to life in Italy, where the motto often seems to be "Why do things simply when you can make them complicated?"
